Mildred Delgado, the Assistant Vice President of Clinical and Supportive Services at Richmond Community Services, has announced she will retire soon.

Richmond Community Services’ board of directors hosted an event at a local restaurant last week to honor her 50 years of service in the industry. Paca Lipovac, President and CEO of Richmond Community Services, Chairman of Richmond Community Services, and Westchester’s former State Legislator, Nick Spano, attended the event and honored her untiring efforts for the residents of Richmond during her tenure.

An overwhelmed Delgado also addressed the event and thanked her family and all the attendees.

“When I was a nurse early on, I used to think how I could make such a difference in these people’s lives that I support, but the truth is that they have given more to me than I ever gave to them,” said Delgado. She said her years of service at Richmond Community Services have made her a better person, nurse, and mother. “My kids have learned from me to have compassion for the people we support.”

Richmond Community Services, in partnership with all members of the community, supports children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families, to achieve the highest quality of life through individualized services, life-enhancing strategies, education, and advocacy, with particular expertise in meeting the needs of those with complex health issues.
