Rally in the Valley: Stand Up for Disability Rights & Fair Funding

On March 7, 2025, disability advocates, nonprofit organizations, direct support professionals, and families will unite for the Rally in the Valley—a powerful movement urging Governor Kathy Hochul and the NYS Legislature to make a firm commitment to individuals with disabilities and the staff who support them.

The rally will push for policies that strengthen disability services across New York, including a 7.8% Medicaid Rate Increase to ensure sustainable, high-quality care, Convening a Worker Wage Commission to address fair wages for direct support professionals, and Investing in Capital Funding to enhance facilities and resources for individuals with developmental disabilities.

This is our chance to show the strength and resilience of the disability community, from direct care workers to families and self-advocates. Let’s demand the funding and policies needed to continue providing excellent care and support for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
